Job shadow
My Job Shadow was on Camilo Valencia, who is a Farm labor Contractor. In a local organization Camilo Valencia F-L-C located in Strathmore California. I did my Job Shadow on March 11, 2017 I Chose to Job Shadow a Farm labor Contractor because Agriculture is not just farm animals and fairs but also crops and we are surrounded a lot of oranges and lemons and tangerines also olives.
The day of my Job Shadow i arrived in Orosi where Camilo Valencia greeted me. I shook his hand and introduced myself and so did he. Throughout the day he would supervise the group of people he had harvesting oranges, we also walked around greeting everyone that was working. As i observed being nice and really greeting everyone is a really good part because that gets communication going and makes a bond between you and the workers. He was also looking at the fruit and seeing if it was properly harvest.
In the Job Shadow i learned that there is a lot of responsibilities with being a Farm Labor Contractor because its up to you to give the harvesters the green light to enter work or to let them know that the crops are still wet and that they need to wait a little longer before the go in, also you must tell them the place and time. With being a F-L-C you really need to be bilingual because the workers are hispanics and the land owners speak english and you must be able to communicate amongst each other. Also you must be well organized and know how to balance a check book and keep track of everything also money wise.
In conclusion being a Farm Labor Contractor is a very nice job and you must be well organized and be very respectfully because without the people you have no workers and if there is no workers there is no people to do the job. I am still very interested in this job its a very good job. Also all around us is Agriculture there is work all year round.
